![]() The antagonists also swap roles between games.īerseria is a good game, and I even enjoyed Zestiria even if not as many others did (but not as much as Berseria). You also see the advent of the Shepard, who in Berseria, is the bad guy, but in Zestiria is the main protagonist. It's a small detail that really added a lot for me. I loved that, it shows just how long there is between the two games, so much so that its weird spelling in Berseria was eventually simplified to the Zestiria version even though they sound the same. However, between the time of the two games, its name was bastardized. By the time of Zestiria, it's essentially rubble, but in Berseria it's a functioning structure. There is a location in Berseria that is also in Zestiria. It seems like at every turn, I was thinking "Hey, that's from Zestiria!" And I love the subtly of some of them. There are common themes between them as well as locations and even characters. I also loved all the connections to Zestiria because they take place in the same world distantly apart. The "bad" guys are doing bad things but loved by the people and the "good" guys are stopping them by also doing bad things and are hated by the public. evil story, Berseria's is much more grey, and that's what I like about it. Where Zestiria was a cut-and-dry good vs. Berseria was a real departure from the rest of the franchise (relatively speaking), especially for immediately following Zestiria.
